In order to play games that are limited for playing within the LAN system from outside the system, through the internet, you need to build up a virtual LAN environment, using 'SoftEther'. As for your connection to the internet, optical fiber line is recommended. We are not aware whether it operates satisfactorily through the ADSL line. If you are using a router, you need to direct TCP port 7777 to your computer. Please be aware of security measures, and any risks or problems incurred will be placed on your own responsibility. Here you see that, 'yourself' (host) is using 192.168.100.1,and other users are using either 192.168.100.2 or 192.168.100.3 so that each paritcipant uses a different address. You can add on up to 192.168.100.254 (maximum) Go to 'subnet mask' underneath, input 255.255.255.0. Other items, leave blank. Although you are not yet connected to the virtual LAN cable, now you have completed the virtual LAN card setting.
Instructions for Virtual HUB setting (Only for game host. not necessary for game participants) Windows > start > program > SoftEther > Open 'SoftEther virtual HUB Telnet management client', and check 'this computer' and connect. First, choose and set your password. Then 'SoftEther virtual HUB management console' screen opens. Find 'main menu'>choose '1 user management'(enter key)>go to '2 user making' and input names and passwords of each user. As for items after 'virtual HUB ID', just skip by pressing 'enter',if setting is not necessary,and repeat the process for each user. (Example shows,user AAA being made ) Attention: If you use user name 'guest', access without accreditation will be authorized.
Instructions for virtual HUB and virtual LAN card connection setting.(Only for game host. not necessary for game participants) 'Host' needs to connect his virtual LAN card to his own virtual HUB. Using 'SoftEther Connection Manager' on your desktop, set your virtual LAN card connection. Click 'new account' in 'Menu', and the form for setting a new connection will appear. Click 'direct connection to TCP/IP, and input 'local host' and port number '7777' as your connection. Then, input user name (AAA in the example),and password.
Try out the new connection - - - - Connection is completed.
Now you have completed your connection between your virtual HUB and virtual LAN card. You have to wait for each user to connect to your virtual HUB. Setting for game participants Make sure not to use the same IP address among participants.(Inquire the host for your IP) Using 'SoftEther Connection Manager' on your desktop, set your virtual LAN card connection. Click 'new account' in 'Menu', and the form for setting a new connection will appear. Click 'direct connection to TCP/IP, and input 'host's global IP' and port number '7777' as your connection. (Inquire the host for his global IP) Then connect to the host's computer,by using the user name and password that the host gave you. (User BBB is used in the example.)
Starting the game. Host can check the participants' connection by looking up the user list in the 'SoftEther virtual HUB Telnet management client'. Start and enjoy!
